When the state acquires the wrong kind of power, it will always seek to aggrandize itself in the form of increasing collected power. From the Fall, sinful men believe they are gods. Government becomes messianic. Power is the necessary instrument.
Aside from the needed change of heart among Christians regarding family education, defunding state schools, or at least abolishing mandatory attendance laws will be a critical tactical requirement to restore the republic.
As long as government controls education, it will continue to marginalize the Christian faith toward abolishment, because it is the sole opponent to statist humanism.
